One year ago today, I started this blog. After roughly 400 posts, I think it's fair to say that I officially like writing about the renewal of Shaw and that our neighborhood offers a lot to discuss in terms of development, entertainment, dining, and shopping. Of course, typing away at a keyboard is only so helpful in prompting change and dialogue, so thanks to everyone who acts to improve our neighborhood by attending, speaking up at and documenting the various neighborhood meetings, dining out at our restaurants, patronizing our stores and galleries, picking up trash, conversing with neighbors, painting over graffiti, helping the homeless and disadvantaged, volunteering at our schools and libraries, working with the police and combatting crime, writing letters and emails to our elected officials, and otherwise investing in our great community.
Happy Monday and thanks for reading!

Way to go, Shaw Rez!
I've loved your blog ever since I embarked on my own foray(s) into the DC condo blogosphere.
Though I've been forced to withdraw my blogs for personal reasons, I hope to return in the near future.
In the meantime, fellow Whitman and Shaw residents, I'm watching...
Thanks for your blog- I love the information you provide and the pro-Shaw spirit. I have found DC to be so transient but your blog is a fantastic way to feel connected.
