Shaw/Mt. Vernon To Get Downtown's Famed Waffle Shop?
A post on the Life in Mt. Vernon Square blog tipped me to a this WaPo article reporting that Douglas Development might be moving the Waffle Shop to the convention center area, likely to somewhere along 7th Street. This could be an exciting greasy spoon addition to our neighborhood and a great late night, post-revelry destination.

Mmm, greasy spoons. Good to know they won't be totally shut out in new developments.
Without any irony, it would be great fun to have the Waffle Shop near the Convention Center! BTW, have you folks noticed how trashy Old Dominion has gotten? Posters, plaquards, banners, hand written ads for specials --even over the uninals and mirrors-- everywhere. The windows too are taped with all sorts of trash. Really tacky.
waffle shop is the greatest! i have been going there since the early 90's. i have a studio downtown and everyone there was just fantastic. it was a great place to meet and feel at home! i hope it comes to shaw!!!
How about putting it on the vacant log where the trailer is sitting at 9th & N Streets?
