Treebox Vodka and company present the fourth installment of the Shaw Neighborhood Monthly Cleanup this Saturday. This month, the cleanup will again help Shaw Main Streets' treebox overhaul project by planting borders of liriope and mulching the treeboxes between the 1300 and 1400 block of 9th street (just in time to enhance the holiday shopping and dining experience along this important part of the 9th Street corridor!). Treeboxes along these blocks recently received attractive new iron treebox guards that match the new ones previously installed in the 1500 block of 9th. As the meeting place this week is right outside of Azi's, I'm sure I'll be there caffeinating beforehand.
These monthly cleanups are a great way to meet neighbors and to show some Shaw pride by sprucing up a stretch of our great neighborhood, so grab a friend (or come solo), plan on working in the dirt, picking up trash, and/or generally having a great time!
