1320 9th Street Renovation Nears

Last May, I posted about a vacant building that was for sale, 1320 9th Street, Northwest. According to the Real Property Assessment Database, the property sold in March of this year to a single purpose entity known as 1320 9th Street NW LLC. I recently checked the DCRA's Plan Review Status Database and found that on April 27, 2009, an application for a building permit was submitted. It therefore seems that renovation of this property is forthcoming. Woo-hoo!

Would this include the vacant lot next door?

I haven't seen the plans, but I think the former car lot next door is still on the market, so I don't think so.

Nice! If that happens, I believe then all 4 buildings connected on that row (alley on the one side, old car lot on the other, Be Bar in the middle) will be either renovated or in process of renovation.

Maybe 9th St. is the new H Street...

If so, any chance we can get Taylor Made to open a 2nd sandwich shop on 9th?

Sure would be sweet.

Blind Item:

The owner and future tenant of this building is a famous DC interior designer. Think showroom, workshop, offices, etc. Word is he has a deal with a large chain to develop of line of home goods (i.e. Martha Stewart). I'll let him make the official announcement when he decides the time is right. It's going to be great!
