Drew submits this photo showing some sort of digging activity taking place at 1501 9th Street (at 9th and P Streets, NW) earlier today. As you may recall, a development proposal for this former used car lot was submitted recently and, I hear, got the green light from the Historic Preservation Review Board. While I don't think today's digging is the start of construction (I could be wrong, but I bet it's something preliminary, like the removal of an old underground tank or something), I hope this is a sign of things to come in the near future on this notable corner. Anyone know anything more?
