Developer Selected for WMTA's Florida Avenue Parcels
Remember this post about Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority's (WMATA's) May 2007 RFP for the development of three non-contiguous parcels along Florida Avenue between 7th Street and 9th Street? Well the Washington Business Journal reports that the developer has been chosen! Metro selected Banneker Ventures LLC’s bid from three final offers. According to the article, under a 60-year ground lease, Banneker will build 104 apartments and 11,750 square feet of ground-floor retail and arts space.

i was hoping that the CVS and it's parking lot would be part of this redevelopment as well. a parking lot on a prominent corner like that is a MASSIVE waste of good real estate!
make it under grade parking, have a KFC on top
