Continued Renaissance on the 1400 Block of 9th

The 1400 block of 9th Street continues its renaissance.

As reported a while ago on this Blog, renovations are ongoing at 1410 9th Street. The (pretty well sourced but unofficial/unconfirmed) rumor is that 1410 is under construction to become residential space on the second and third floors (I believe condominiums) and retail on the first floor. New windows were installed on 1410 Street last week, and this renovation appears to be moving along briskly now. Pictures will follow in a post this weekend.

I have not yet reported on the ongoing demolition at 1416 9th Street (the building to the right of Vegetate). The (again pretty well sourced but unofficial/unconfirmed) rumor is that 1416 building will house offices on the second and third floors and retail on the first floor. As evidenced by the following pictures, demolition is pretty extensive.

It is so exciting to see additional investment in our great neighborhood, and I eagerly await completion of, and the arrivial of our new neighbors in these beautiful structures on 9th.

This is great news. It will be interesting to see how this develops. . . and when the O Street market site gets developed, this block will look entirely different.....

Apparently our good neighbors in ANC2F have been paying a lot of attention to this building, as demolition and stagnated construction progress have characterized its recent history (see there website for more).

Here's to hoping that the project resumes with a clear vision, brisk and legal construction pace, and brings us neighborhood-enhancing tenants.
