Demolition at Site of Future Marriott Hotels

A few of the folks I follow on Twitter have posted photos of demolition occurring at (what I believe is part of the) site of two planned Marriott Hotels at Ninth and L.   Here are their photos, which appear to show the demolition of an old warehouse/garage in the alley behind the Whitman.  I have heard of no impending plans for developing the Courtyard by Marriott and Residence Inn on the site, so my guess is that the cleared space will be used for staging and parking in the near term.

If anyone knows where I can find the long-term plans for this plot, I'd be very grateful. I have a lovely view and I'm worried I'll soon lose it to a much larger and much closer building.

@Mike - Marriott hotels will be building 3 properties in our neighborhood. The largest is the lot that they are now working on (between L and Mass). The other two will be on 9th and L where all the boarded up buildings are going up to the cigar shop and back down L to the Eldon. The historic properties will be preserved with a large setback building going in behind. The old DC child & family services building and the warehouse bldg pictured will be demolished for the new hotels. They will all rise up high. The large Marquis hotel will be up to 12 floors. These hotels are long overdue and necessary for the survival of our convention center. It's pretty unlikely that you or any group will be able to stop what has been planned and zoned long before the Whitman and other properties nearby were even built.

I thought it was one Marriott Marquis? Not two Marriotts...

Brian - three hotels total. The Marquis is the biggest. The other two will be Marriott brands, most likely Courtyard and Residence Inn. The Marquis goes along Mass Ave. The other two will be on the corner of 9th and L.
