wow, i was so busy getting cussed out by the jerk driver of a giant SUV for daring to bike the 1 lane they left open on L street...i didnt even notice.
Actually, I think it's too bad they didn't try to save and incorporate it. Although it was hardly attractive it did give a sense of history and could have made an interesting widget in what will probably be a fairly sterile new streetscape.
