DCMud reports that CityVista began settlements on condominiums in its first phase, the "L" building, last Friday. When all three phases of this huge, mixed-use project to our immediate south are complete, it will boast 441 condominiums, a 9-story apartment building, an "urban Safeway" (complete with a SunTrust Bank, a Starbucks and a Bergmann's Dry Cleaners), Results gym, an Ace hardware store known as Fifth Street Hardware (which is, as reported, brought to us by the good people of Logan Hardware), and an off-shoot of Busboys and Poets.
Other major projects transforming and/or soon to transform this area include the nearing-completion Yale Loft Condominiums and the planned New York Avenue Apartments by Bozzuto.

You can alway be rest assured that with all this grand development all around us, Shiloh and the Park Service will fight hard to keep our blocks as a historic slum theme park and fend off the evil-doer gentrifiers.
