National Night Out in Shaw Tonight

From Shaw Main Streets :
Tonight, Tuesday, August 7, 2007, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, join co-sponsors Metropolitan Police Department Police Service Area 308 and Shaw Main Streets for our annual National Night Out observance in central Shaw.

The fun starts on the Lincoln Westmoreland II Parking Lot right next to the 8th and R Streets, NW, METRO Station entrance, with hot dogs, cold soft drinks, water, and ice cream; free raffle for bicycles; music; a Dog Days competition, with prizes for Shaw canines; free child identity kits; demonstrations by the U.S. Secret Service Motorcade and METRO Transit K-9 Unit; and much more.

Also included will be displays of information on neighborhood history, health and legal services, and other community based programs and District agencies.

National Night Out is an annual crime and drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch. Each year, NNO brings together citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations, and local officials from more than 10,000 communities all over the 50 states, District of Columbia, US territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide.
