As I mentioned previously, I stopped off at Maruka - School for Yoga , Healing Arts and Retail Boutique last weekend and was mightily impressed. The owners have placed beautifully filled planters around the exterior of their building at the corner of 9th and N, a really eye-catching enhancement at this important Shaw intersection. The interior exudes serenity, with white marble tile floors, white walls and soothing music. On the first floor as you enter is Maruka's retail boutique, which features unique designer jewelry, minerals, active wear, accessories, soy candles, natural beauty products, natural massage oils, and essential oils. On the second floor is the school for yoga and healing arts. I've reprinted the schedule and price list below. They feature open yoga for all levels, one on one yoga, family yoga, kids yoga, meditation, energy healing, bodywork, and workshops. I'm planning on trying a class this weekend.
