Weekend Shoutouts

I'm running low on time this morning so can't really investigate and write about the many exciting things going on in Shaw this weekend. In addition to this woefully abbreviated list, I encourage you to speak up in the comments on things people should do this weekend!

1. be: studio54 Tonight - featuring the best music from the notorious disco era and $5 Redbull Vodkas, be bar is the place to be tonight.

be bar
1318 9th Street, NW

2. Hit the Bloomingdale Farmers' Market on Sunday - held from 10am to 2pm at 1st and R Streets, NW, this farmers' market is awesome. Grab a drink at the newly opened Big Bear Cafe while you're over there!

3. There's Always This Fun Stuff To Do in Shaw - These regular weekend options are always great: the Liberation Dance Party at DC9, the shows at 9:30 Club, Black Cat, Arena Stage, and Studio Theater, the cultural offerings of the Warehouse Arts Complex, Project 4 Gallery, the Ninth Street Gallery, and the Long View Gallery, and the chance to get your freak on and knock back some drinks at places like Avenue, Be Bar, and Old Dominion Brewhouse.

As always, email me suggestions for weekend shoutouts at slumhistorique at yahoo dot com!

A former ANC2C Commissioner is having a block party in front of his house on 11-5, Saturday. Not everyone is invited, so if you're a gov't official, you should check the invite list first to determine whether or not you are welcome.

It's astonishing that with all of those computers our tax dollars have purchased for Leroy, he's still unable to crank out a document free of typos: this event will apparently be held at "5ht and R Street's, NW".

The deranged one also still thinks he's a "COMMISSIONER" more than half a year after he was defeated. A reality check is long over due. Let it go already.

Looks like a certain somone has more to worry about than who's coming to party on Saturday. Looks like he's going to need to find a permanent and public place to house ECCA computers or face the wrath of the Attorney General.

If the house par-tay is on public land -- you're invited. Time to play "guess who's coming to dinner?"
