Shaw Main Streets Seeks Input on New Business Development

From Alex Padro, Executive Director of Shaw Main Streets:

During the past four years, Shaw Main Streets has been able to attract many of the types of businesses identified in surveys by neighborhood residents and other stakeholders as being the top priorities for new business development. In order to refine our ongoing new business attraction activities, we need to hear your opinions about the types of new businesses that are still missing in the mix in central Shaw.

This year, for the first time, we are able to make it possible for you to complete the survey online by clicking on this link.

It will only take a few minutes to complete the survey, and if you provide your email address, we will provide you with the results when the survey is completed. Please take a few moments now to let us know what types of businesses you believe we should concentrate on attracting, and which ones you don't want.

If you prefer to complete a hard copy, survey forms are available at the following locations:

Azi's Cafe, 1336 9th Street, NW; Breakwell's Coffee + Tea, 900 M Street, NW; Dan the Man's Teriyaki & Subs, 1936 9th Street, NW; Grape Legs, 1905 9th Street, NW; Kennedy Recreation Center, 1401 7th Street, NW; Lettie Gooch Boutique, 1911 9th Street, NW; Lumsden Insurance Agency, 1525 9th Street, NW; Modern Liquors, 1200 9th Street, NW; Potomac Real Estate, 1731 7th Street, NW.

Thanks in advance for your participation in this survey.

This is an awesome opportunity to let Shaw Main Streets know what kind of business you'd like to see along our commercial corridors, and I encourage everyone to take the survey! I have a few ideas myself that I'm going to submit...
