Convention Center Hotel Construction Imminent

It appears that a deal has been reached among the various parties who filed lawsuits in the past year that will allow the construction of the convention center hotel to move forward finally. The Business Journal quotes D.C. Councilman Kwame Brown, D-At large, chairman of the economic development committee, as saying that “There should be a fence going up in the next 30 days” around the site.

Woohoo!

About freakin' time.

Still not holding my breath until we see dirt of the non-ceremonial variety flying.

If this actually happens, also curious to see who steps up and takes all the credit for brokering the deal in this election season.

drumming my fingers...the corner of 9th & L is as funky as ever with the huge fetid trash pile. now the vacant dump has been freshly broken into and is hanging open. I'm amazed the guy who has lived there for years hasnt set the whole shebang on fire yet.
