Wagtime Building Overhaul

The building that houses Wagtime is undergoing a major overhaul presently. According to the building permit, the overhaul includes "Exterior facade repairs to include trim & cornice repairs, window & storefront replacement & sign." It's exciting to see the sprucing up of this structure and storefront, which is directly across from the convention center. I can't wait to see the final result!

speaking of 9th street, what's the status on Nima's restaurant? Any word when it's opening?

A very good question, anon. I haven't seen any signs of progress on Nima's (which was slated to open in the building to the left of Wagtime in the above photo), so am not optimistic about it opening anytime soon.

This is great news!! I have thought for some time that a better retail front with more glass would vastly improve this building...

On another note, the Intowner has an interesting article on the businesses on 9th street. It made me sad that Azi said that business is not great at Azi's Cafe. We all need to remember to patronize these local businesses - I think people would be really sad if they didn't make it!

I love this blog, and I'm wondering if you wouldn't mind please linking to the BaaNC blog (Blagden Alley/Naylor Court)?

anon at 6:07 - agreed; we need to support our local coffee shop gems like Azi's, Chatman's, Breakwell's, Big Bear, and so on.

anon at 9:07 - BAANC is a great blog; I just added it to the links.

I live on 10th Street and back onto Blagden alley. I can see from the rear that they are steadily (if somewhat slowly) working on the two buildings just to the south of Wagtime, so hopefully the plan remains to open a restaurant in one or both of those buildings.

anon @ 12:34 - Bell Architects appears to be wrapping up their renovation of their future office two buildings south of Wagtime. It appears that they've done an outstanding job.

I hope your right that the building immediately south of Wagtime is still actively under renovation; perhaps Nima's will come into being after all!

Azi's would probably make more money if she stayed open past 7pm...I mean, does she turn into a pumpkin at dusk??
