Another beautiful fall weekend is in store, despite Friday's gloomy beginning! Here are some options in and around our neighborhood:
1. Walk and Learn - go on one of the several informative walking tours of the area this Saturday. Details here.
2. Acadiana's Southern Sundays - Do you wake up on Sundays with a hankering for southern fare and hospitality? Every weekend, Acadiana opens its doors for its New Orleans-style Brunch, served 11 AM to 2:30 PM. Enjoy a three-course prix fixe menu for $32, while listening to the sounds of Louisiana. And for those who aren't early risers on the weekend, you will have the option to dine at the bar on nibbles and bits from Louisiana during the hours of 3 to 6 PM. A Brandy Milk Punch or the famed and spicy Bloody Mary beckons your oder. Then, make room for Sunday Suppers. Dinner will be served from 5:30 to 9:30 PM.

3. Stroll to E-Street Cinema - Yesterday, DCist had a great post about a movie I really want to see that's now playing at E Street Cinema (which is a hike but not *that* far from our beloved Shaw, especially when the forecast is this perfect), Into the Wild. The movie is based on the true story of a life-ending, cross-country journey of an Annandale native. View the trailer here.
4. These Regular Options Are Always Great - the Liberation Dance Party at DC9, the shows at 9:30 Club, Black Cat, Arena Stage, and Studio Theater, the cultural offerings of the Warehouse Arts Complex, Project 4 Gallery, the Ninth Street Gallery, and the Long View Gallery, the chance to get your freak on and knock back some drinks at places like Avenue, Be Bar, Nellie's Sports Bar, and Old Dominion Brewhouse, and great meals at Vegetate, Etete, or Queen of Sheba.
